Free Crib

I have to start with the disclaimer that someone generously shared this crib with us so I don't know how old it is or many babies have been in it, but it is in good shape, maple colored wood with one fixed and one drop side, it has a spring platform and looks like it can convert to a full size bed, though I have never done that. A rather  "bouncy" mattress is available as well.

Let's Jingle and Mingle!

Alright girls ... let's get the jinlge bells ringing. It's last minute, but with the enthusiasm of many, I thought we'd better do it before the holiday break gets here. So this Thursday, December 15th, I am hosting Girls Night Out at my house. Come hang out, laugh, and have fun. And of course eat :) Let's say at about 7:30 pm the jingling and mingling will begin. If you'd like, bring a little appetizer or dessert to share.
Also ... I am looking for a feel on whether or not to do it, but I was thinking it would be fun to do a little gift exchange. It would be a $10 limit. Bringing a gift would not be mandatory to come. In the past, we have played a game with the gifts and it has been so much fun. Let me know if you like the idea.

So, MikE's cousin works for a company that makes boxes and such. Well, they have surplus! They have 360,000 of these boxes that can be used for such a variety of things especially for the holidays. They have white and blue only and they are one quart in size. She needed a temporary warehouse to store them at and the bishops storehouse has agreed. So tomorrow afternoon they should be there for your convenience. You may tell all your friends and family...there is definitely enough to go around. Christmas Lights on Thoroughbred St

First let me just say how much we miss Suzanne. She was always so good at doing this every year. We were talking at the park today and realized we needed to post this and get it organized. :) So...

Monday December 19th- for FHE- we are going to go see the Christmas lights on Thoroughbred St. in Alta Loma. We are meeting at the Park N Ride on Beech at 5:30 to caravan over there.

Afterwards for those interested- we'll go to Denny's (on Baseline just off the 15) for dinner/ hot cocoa.

Fall Craft Day

Hey Everyone,

I've had some requests to have a Craft Day...So...here goes...

I know it is a CRAZY time of year with all the fun and work of the holidays but I came up with something simple, super cute, and easy. I saw these last year and wanted to try them but just ran out of time. They are PICTURE ORNAMENTS. They are made out of a 2" by 3" wood blocks (which really means 1 3/4" by 2 1/2"). I made up 2 samples--one is an individual picture with the person's name on the back with the date (my example is of Cade--my cutie). It would be fabulous to do one of each family member!! The other is a family shot--it can say "family" or the family name (Damron's for example) on the back with the date. They turned out so cute!!

The other 2 ornaments in the pictures are ideas if you wanted to give a little something to your neighbor, teacher, VT/HT families, family members, etc. Same idea as the picture ornaments but just with words and darling paper that emphasizes the meaning of the words. There is a "merry" (ha, ha!!) idea of "Reindeer Games" in the traditional red and green with darling reindeer paper as well as a beautiful music oriented ornament of "O Holy Night" in cream and grey/black. (I'm happy to do something custom--just let me know)

I love to top presents with small, meaningful ornaments as an extra little touch--it is really a JOY! I also love to get handmade gifts--they are the BEST!! And, for you Grandmas out there--what a sweet gift to give your kids and grandkids. This also could be fun for our kids to do as well for their friends or teachers. Anyone is welcome to come and craft!!

*Now for the Details:

Each ornament is $1 (if you want me to make it for you, they will be $1.50). Money is due by next Friday, November 18. I will cut all the wood, sand and paint over the weekend or so.

*We will get together on the following dates:

Wednesday, November 23--from 10AM to 1PM (I know it is vacation week but we can look at it like a park day.) If the weather permits, we can do this date at Coyote Canyon park--the kids can play and we can craft on the tables. If bad weather, we will do it at my house.

Tuesday, November 29--from 8:30AM to 12:00PM We will be at my house.

Friday, December 2--from 8:30AM to 10AM and 8:00PM to 10PM We will be at my house.

Note: Pictures for the PICTURE ORNAMENTS need to be around 2 1/2" by 2 1/2". Close up shots will work best. I will supply everything else.

Remodeling House

GIRLS NIGHT OUT

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know there has been a change for October's Girls Night Out! Kristina and Rachel changed places--so, the Boutique at my house Friday night will be in place of Girls Night Out for Oct. We will have food, shopping, and conversation--just Friday night (or Sat. morning!) instead of the Thursday. The month of Oct. only then it will go back to being the first Thursday of every month.

For the past two weeks I have been checking on food storage pricing and what I could possibly get that the Church doesn't sell.  Recently there is gelatin in lime, orange, raspberry and strawberry bannana.  For a 5 lb can these are usually 18.99 right now they are on clearance for 9.99.  If anyone is in need to buy some for food storage if you purchase 6  cans or more then your price will be 9.00 a can. Girls Night/Recipe Swap

So I have been wanting to get new recipes again and thought I would see if anyone else wanted to do the same thing. I also thought it would be a good excuse to do a girls night out and get to know each other better. I wanted to make something new to try for that night and if you would like to make a new recipe and bring it that night to share and try that would be fun(don't forget the recipe card for us to copy). We just had both of our huge pine trees removed and are looking for takers for firewood. First come first serve, free. This wood is only good for camping or other outside use not for your home use.

Fourth of July

We heard that the guy who does the fireworks in our neighborhood is moving so this is going to be the last year he does them. We wanted to let any one know they are welcome to come to the cul de sac and watch fireworks. If you would like you could come over earlier and bring dinner and let the kids play before. We have done it in the past and it has been a lot of fun. If you want to do that just let me know, if we got enough people who wanted to we could look into going in on a waterslide to rent if they are still available. Please pass the word on cause I don't know how often people check this. Let me know if you are wanting to come and we can decide on a time and work out details, otherwise just come when it is dark and bring fireworks and a treat to share.

Entertainment Book-Soak city coupons

Summit Sisters- Our babysitter, my brother, cancelled on us this weekend :( He was suppose to babysit fri-sun morning for us while we were in Palm Spring for our anniversary. We can't cancel our reservations and get a refund so our only option is to take them with us. So saturday we are wanting to go to soak city. Clint and I aren't going to be able to make the camping trip at Sycamore Canyon this year. We've had a change in plans. There are a group of us that have been talking about the Summer--about how to keep things fun but local. I don't know about you but with these gas prices, I don't want to drive much of anywhere!!

So...luckily we have some generous and willing women who will host POOL DAYS for us!!! Yeah!! And, because California's normal true Summer is end of July, August, and September, we were thinking we could instigate PARK DAYS. Yeah!!

So here is the schedule we came up with--

POOL DAYS will be most every Friday of Summer break from 11AM--1PM.

May 27 --Tiffany Smith's house.

June 3 --Dana Gustafson's house

No Pool Day on July 1
